HEAR MOUNT PLEASANT, MOUNT PLEASANT MAIN STREET AND THE ANC REACH HISTORIC "VOLUNTARY AGREEMENTS" WITH HAYDEE'S AND DON JAIME'S RESTAURANTS!!
Hear MTP, MTP Main Street and Haydee's and Don Jaime's have signed voluntary agreements that reflect a new collaborative approach to managing and resolving concerns about business impacts on residents. ANC1D has also entered into new VAs with Haydees and Don Jaimes that are virtually identical to the Hear MTP VA. The Agreements call for sound management plans (which are already in place) and create new avenues for residents and businesses to work together to resolve community problems and concerns. The Agreements also establish mechanisms for nearby residents to communicte concerns to business owners. Under the terms of the agreement, live entertainment (including dancing) is permitted. However, any live entertainment must end by midnight Sunday through Thursday and by 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday night. The Agreement gives the restaruants flexibility to find what works and what is compatible with neighborhood interests; but restaurants must work collboratively to proactively resolve neighbors complaints. The Agreement will not take effect however until the ABRA Board rules on the restaurants request to terminate the old, MPNA agreements. The ABRA Board must also rule favorably on the Haydee's and Don Jaime's application for an entertainment endorsement. Hear Mount Pleasant expects the Board to rule before the end of this month.
