HEAR MT PLEASANT

CURRENT PROJECT: We are working to overturn existing "Voluntary Agreements" that ban live entertainment in every restaurant on Mt. Pleasant Street that has a liquor license. We have developed a new model "Voluntary Agreement" that allows restaurants that serve alcohol to offer live entertainment including live music, poetry readings, and karaoke and to permit dancing while respecting the community\'s interest in peace and good order. We are working with local business owners, community groups and civic organizations to replace existing, overly restrictive voluntary agreements with this new model. Copies of our model voluntary agreement will be available in English and Spanish on our website at www.hearmountpleasant.org.
