Mt. Pleasant fire - Volunteers are needed for donations management.200 people were displaced in the recent fires in Mt. Pleasant . Serve DC will be the primary receiver of donations to help those impacted get their lives back on track.Your assistance is needed to help receive, sort, and inventory donations as they are brought in. There may be some heavy lifting. When: Saturday, March 15, 2008 9:00am . 2:00pm 1:00pm . 6:00pm Sunday, May 16, 2008 9:00am . 2:00pm 1:00pm . 6:00pm Specify which shift you are available for. If you can only do a partial shift, please specify time.Where: The Columbia Heights Community Center Donation Center located at 1480 Girard Street will not be accepting donations as of 7:00pm today, March 14, 2008.To allow us to receive the large volume of donations, we are relocating to:DC General Hospital Warehouse1900 Massachussetts Avenue, SE Building 6 DC General is accessible from the Stadium-Armory ( Orange and Blue line) metro station Enter front of hospital campus. Walk or drive to back of campus and turn left. The warehouse is the last building. (See attached map) The loading docks are the best way to identify the building.
